1 Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. For me to write the same things to you is not tedious, but for you it is safe.

2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the mutilation!

Philippians 3:1-3

We looked this past Sunday at how Paul warns the Philippians about those who trust in external religious practices rather than genuine faith in Christ. Like the Judaizers who insisted on circumcision as proof of salvation, we can fall into the trap of measuring our faith by outward actions—church attendance, Bible knowledge, or ministry involvement.

These things become like beautiful envelopes we collect and display, never accessing the true treasure inside: relationship with Jesus. True worship happens in the Spirit, not in accumulated religious credentials.

Today, examine your spiritual life honestly. Are you collecting envelopes or cashing checks? God desires hearts transformed by His Spirit, not résumés of religious accomplishments. The circumcision that matters is the one performed on our hearts by the Holy Spirit. So live today as someone who desires nothing but to serve God and rely on nothing buy Him.
